Recently, we gave you tips for finding a parking space around your college campus and now we are bringing you the next generation of college transportation. College transportation has long consisted of walking and that wonder of two-wheel contraptions—the bicycle. However, I can’t help but believe that one day the bicycle will become a less familiar site and college campus transportation will consist more of vehicles like the Segway, Think City or a car that our partner site recently drove, the CT&T CityEv.

This week is the renowned North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and there are a lot of good things being reported from the show. It is no surprise that electric vehicles (EVs) have been a huge focus for the last couple of years, but this year we are starting to see more and more options that are actually viable. One of those possibly viable EVs is the CT&T CityEV. According to our partners at AllCarsElectric.com, the CityEV is an 80-mile range, 25 mph top speed, micro electric with a small price tag. For the CityEV, simplicity is the name of the game. For example, to get the EV to move you select either the forward gear or reverse gear. Doesn't get any easier than that, right?

The interior also takes cues from the simplicity of the drivetrain with mostly hard plastics and a sparing number of accessories. However, for a purchase price after tax credits of somewhere in the neighborhood of $7K, this could indeed be a campus cruiser for those looking to enhance their green credentials. The question is, do these type of vehicles really have any appeal to college goers? Let us know what you think by dropping us a comment below.
